Winner of the 2006 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition, and the 2004 National Trumpet Jazz Competition, Jean Caze is known as one of the most exciting new voices in jazz. A favorite of critics, peers, and jazz enthusiasts alike, Jean has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Michael Bublé, Arturo Sandoval, Roberta Flack, Al Jarreau, and George Duke.

Caze began playing the trumpet at age nine. According to him, “it took three days to get any sound at all out of it.” His talent eventually earned him many scholarships to the country’s top musical institutions, including the Julliard Music Advancement Program (MAP) where he received his first formal training and the Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music (CPSM) program. He later earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. In 2007, Jean earned his Masters degree in music from Florida International University- one of the many successful musicians who graduated from FIU.

Jean went on to tour with Atlantic recording artist Laura Izibor while freelancing in NYC. Currently, he is on tour with Michael Bublé while working on his second album scheduled to be released in June.  The album includes performances by many talented musicians who call South Florida their home.

Jean Caze recently appeared with with Michael Bublé on the “Kelly and Michael” show on Thursday, April 25th at 9 am on ABC. You can see him next perform on the “Ellen Show” on Thursday, May 2nd at 4 pm on NBC.
