FIU Theatre Announces Spring 2014 Auditions

AUDITION NOTICE:

Auditions will be held Monday, November 11 2013 from 12PM-5PM in the WPAC Black Box for both Spring 2014 shows – JUNE MOON (Jan 24 – Feb 2) & JULIUS CAESAR (Feb 28 – Mar 9) . To audition students must be a registered Theatre Major; please sign up for a 5 minute slot in the front office (WPAC 131).

Requirements:

JUNE MOON – prepare a 1-minute monologue from a comedic playwright of the 1920’s and 30’s. Playwrights include (but are not limited t0): George Kaufman (including collaborations, EXCEPT JUNE MOON), Elmer Rice, Philip Barry, Avery Hopwood and Clare Boothe Luce.
There are several male characters in JUNE MOON who play the piano: if you do, be prepared to play for callbacks a song of the era (i.e.- Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George Gershiwn). Bring sheet music.

JULIUS CAESAR – prepare a 1-minute dramatic selection of Shakespeare’s non-comedic plays (i.e.- tragedies, histories. NO sonnets. EXCLUDING JULIUS CAESAR). Please choose material that is written for your gender, but remember that you could be cast differently.

Callbacks:

  • Callback for JULIUS CAESAR will be held Monday, November 11 from 6PM-10PM in the WPAC Black Box.
  • Callback for JUNE MOON will be held Tuesday, November 12 from 6:30PM-10PM in the WPAC Black Box.

 

Final cast lists for both Spring 2014 shows will be posted Friday, November 15th. Please see the call board for more information.
