CARTA’s Rashida Taylor Receives FIU Service Excellence Award

Every year the FIU community gathers to honor and recognize FIU’s distinguished staff and faculty members for their outstanding achievements and years of service. This year the award ceremony took place Friday, March 4, 2017 to recognize more than 800 faculty and staff for their years of service. Additionally, an about 350 individuals were recognized by their peers and nominated for one of eight award categories.

This year FIU recognized the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) Office of the Dean Finance Manager Rashida Taylor the FIU Service Excellence Award. This award is  presented to individual(s) who possesses job knowledge, people skills, motivation, and drive for continuous improvement that provides a level of service excellence that exceeds the expectations of FIU colleagues and FIU customers. Displaying a level of service excellence beyond the mandated job responsibilities and consistently seeking opportunities for collaboration and cross-functional improvements to better serve the University community.

Taylor’s supervisor, Lilia Silverio-Minaya, was one of 43 who nominated Taylor for this award and said Taylor “completes projects with a clear set of assumptions and a highly thought out level of sophistication.” Taylor was honored by the award and said “thank you everyone, it was a true surprise, I appreciate it.”

We are very proud of Taylor and all who were nominated in recognition of their outstanding service and dedication to FIU and our College.
