“Liking” the FIU School of Music’s Facebook page has many benefits for students, patrons, and music lovers alike. Information on faculty endeavors and student accomplishments are highlighted, showcasing the many talents at the school. Students and others can stay up to date on workshops, clinics, internships, and competitions throughout the year. Facebook can even be used as a networking tool for our current students and alumni.
The Facebook page is the easiest way to stay current with concert and event information. The School of Music boasts a broad roster of musical aesthetics ranging from Baroque, Opera, Classical, Chamber, Piano, Choral, Jazz, as well as cutting edge new music and electronics featuring our world class faculty, and very often our students. Events are posted in advance, often with program information and interesting links about the performers and ensembles. Many of our events, including the masterclasses given by special lecturers and renowned performers, are often free and open to the public. However, one of the newest and exciting features is the new Vendini ticket sales app located on our homepage, which allows patrons to buy tickets instantly from Facebook , and then share a “buy tickets link” with their friends, so that individuals can sit together at the next concert.
