On January 10th and 11th, the home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO), London’s Cadogan Hall, was the venue where violinist Robert Davidovici, FIU’s School of Music Artist-In-Residence, and the RPO, and Maestro Grezgorz Nowak, Principal Associate Conductor of both the RPO and the FIU Symphony, recorded the Violin Concerti of Szymanowski, Lutoslawski, and Kletzki, the last being a world premiere recording.
Last fall at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center, Davidovici, Nowak, and other artists presented a challenging program of works by Polish composers including Lutoslawski and Kletzki. According to the South Florida Classical Review, “Davidovici, who gave the work’s American premiere five years ago in New York, brought full-throttle virtuosity and passion to a score he clearly relishes. At the conclusion of the recording sessions, Robert Davidovici was invited to return to the RPO, again under the direction of Maestro Grzegorz Nowak, in October 2013, to perform the Beethoven Violin Concerto in their London concert series.
