FIU’s Ensemble-in-Residence, the Amernet String Quartet, opened the Mainly Mozart Festival on Sunday, May 12th. The audience was treated to “an intense, committed performance of Dohnányi’s String Quartet No. 2.” The quartet was later joined by violist Yael Kleinman Hyken and cellist Aaron Merritt for Tchaikovsky’s impassioned Souvenir de Florence for a performance that “was full of vigor and brio” according to South Florida Classical Review.

On Sunday, May 26, 3:00 PM, the Amernet wil return with Paul Posnak, pianist and professor at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, for Mozart’s noble work, Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478. Wolf’s Italian Serenade and Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No. 1 in D major, Op. 11 will be sure to captivate audiences.
