Liliana Korn Custy ’09 Speaks at 2015 NAHB International Builders Show in Las Vegas


Liliana Korn Custy (Adjunct Faculty, Korn Interior Design award-winning principal, and the co‐chair of the Builders Association of South Florida Luxury Council) was a guest speaker for the fourth year in a row at this year’s National Homebuilders Association (NAHB) International Builders Show (IBS), held during the International Design & Construction Week in Las Vegas NV, January 20th‐22nd, 2015.

One of the most consistently well-attended educational sessions offered by IBS has been the “Kitchens, Interior Design and Plans Review Workshop.” Liliana was a speaker at this one‐on‐one‐workshop, instructing developers and home builders on how to update their projects’ floor plans and improve space planning, advising them on interior architecture and interior design topics, and inspiring them on unique solutions to specific on‐demand projects’ problems.

Ms. Custy’s popular Interior Design Plan Review Workshop was hosted at IBS Design Studio Central and is a historically sold‐out event at IBS. Builders brought floor plans to Ms. Korn Custy, who is a trained architect in her native country of Argentina as well as a Florida Licensed Interior Designer and a Florida Licensed General Contractor. Specializing in high‐end residential design, she has expertise in the luxury market and how design can enhance investments for both home builders and their clients.

Professor Custy’s expert assessments assisted developers and home builders obtain valuable information and ideas for improving market appeal and perceived value, thus positioning them to increase the return on their investments.

The NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) is the largest annual light construction show in the world. During IBS 2015, attendees had access to the exhibit floors of two of the biggest trade shows for design and construction professionals, The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) co‐located in Las Vegas. Joining IBS and KBIS were three additional partner events: the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE), the International Surface Event (TISE), and Las Vegas Market (home décor & furnishings, accessories and gifts). There was an attendance of 125,000+ residential construction and design professionals and a combined total of 3,750 exhibitors and more than 4.7 million net square feet of exhibits.
