FIU’s Interior Architecture Student Organization offers Portfolio Workshop

The Interior Architecture Student Organization (IASO) presented a portfolio improvement workshop at FIU’s School of Architecture on Friday, 18 January. President of IASO, Shayan Khalilahmadi, is a former advertising creative director and freelance graphic designer. Shayan used her knowledge and experience to create an innovative and informative session attended by students from FIU’s School of Architecture and Miami Dade College (MDC) Juan Damas’ Interior Design 4 studio.

With the common goal of gaining admission to the FIU Interior Architecture program, training focussed on students learning to further enhance their portfolios in preparation for submission on February 1, 2013. Students learned about the vital role fonts play in effective graphic communication and different layout techniques and tricks that never fail.  Armed with new design savy, the students visibly gained additional confidence in their graphic design abilities.

Working to fulfill their mission to enhance the experience of students at FIU Interior Architecture program, IASO will be promoting several other workshops throughout Spring 2013 to help students improve their graphic skills and becoming better acquinted with 3D modeling software.
