The College of Architecture + The Arts congratulates its Artist-in-Residence, Xavier Cortada, for his new exhibition at the Kona Kai gallery in Key Largo. The paintings, made in Antarctica in 2006 and 2007, were created using sea ice, glacier and sediment samples provided by scientists working on the continent. Cortada titled the works on paper by randomly selecting the names of geographic features from a map of the continent that inspired their creation.
