Congratulations to Leo Lozano, FIU School of Architecture Advisor, and recipient of FIU’s New Advisor of the Year Award! Since joining the School of Architecture in September 2024, Leo has quickly become an invaluable member of the CARTA advising team, known for his dedication, empathy, and passion for student success.
Beyond academic guidance, Leo goes above and beyond to ensure every student feels supported, understood, and empowered to thrive at FIU. His outstanding commitment was also recognized through a nomination for Excellence in First-Year Advising.
A proud two-time FIU alumnus, Leo holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s in Higher Education Administration. His recognition stems from a university-wide nomination and voting process among peers and administrators, reflecting the strong impact he has made in just one year.
“Receiving the New Advisor of the Year award makes me feel truly connected to the CARTA and FIU community. I’ve been with CARTA just over a year, and I strive to make every student feel seen and heard. It’s nice to be seen as well.”
Congratulations, Leo, and thank you for your remarkable contributions to our students and the FIU community!
