Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival Coriolanus 2013 Season - featuring FIU Theatre Student Zach Meyers

FIU Theatre students are keeping busy this summer: many are interning, working off stage, working tech positions and attending intensives to sharpen their skills. Here’s how a few are keeping busy:

Zachary Myers –  has been working at the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival for 3 years now. He says:

“Nothing compares to performing outdoors at nature’s mercy to crowds exceeding 2,000 hanging on your every word. Each year I have worked with them [Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival] has provided a unique challenge, this year’s being no props on an almost bare stage. Add to that the fact that we’re performing one of Shakespeare’s lesser-known plays; at least one not many are instantly familiar with. Preparing for this role was a difficult process. For this show specifically I really have to utilize the breathing techniques I learned in the Voice Movement class [at FIU]. I’ve also used the Michael Chekhov technique I learned.

You can read about Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival’s production of Coriolanus in New Times Broward/Palm Beach & Florida Weekly Arts & Entertainment.

Catch Zach this weekend & next:
