Q: How do I collect my tickets?
A: Tickets are available by calling our Box Office at 305-348-0496, at LiveTheArts.com, or securely via our Facebook page, and at the box office at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center. The Box Office opens one hour before each performance. Online and phone orders will be held at will call. The will call table will be located outside the box office.
Q: What time can I go to my seat?
A: Seating begins a half-hour before curtain. Curtain is the time performances are scheduled to begin. Our Main Stage and Black Box performances are Wednesday-Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 2PM. Late comers will be seated in the Main Stage space until 20 minutes after curtain. Black Box late comers will be seated at the discretion of the theatre management. Please arrive on time as seating late arriving patrons is very disruptive to the actors and other patrons.
Q: Can I eat or drink in the theater?
A: No. No food or drinks are permitted in the theatre. Concessions are sold at intermission of each performance. Opening Night includes a reception with food and beverages which begins at 7:15PM. There is plenty of time to grab a bite to eat and a drink before the show. If you must, a closed bottle of water is allowed into the theatre.
Q: Can I take pictures or make a video recording during the show?
A: No, a lot of work goes into the production and design of the show. Flash photography disrupts the actors and other patrons. Video is not allowed as the process will also cause a distraction.
Q: Can I use my phone to Tweet that awesome line during the show?
A: No, due to the wireless sound system phones must be turned off during performances to stop interference. Also, the lighting designers take a lot of time to set the levels just right, your bright screen will be a distraction to everyone around you. Feel free to check in on any social media before the show, text during intermission and Tweet to your heart’s content after – but please do not use your phone during the performance.
When in doubt, keep this in mind: the actors on stage can see you and very likely hear you. They are on stage to give you the best performance they know how. Let them do so and limit any distractions for them.
