At the Annual Awards Ceremony, April 28, there were many happy tears shed, but the ones of Performance BA Junior Krystal Aleman came as a surprise. Several months ago, Krystal’s long-term, (currently) long-distance boyfriend, Steven Rodriguez contacted Department Chair Marylin Skow asking if he could surprise Krystal at our Awards Ceremony with a proposal in person.
With plane tickets purchased, family gathered, and friends notified, Steven arrived to the Awards Ceremony early and waited out of sight in the wings for the moment he and Professor Skow choreographed. With a speech Krystal was asked to stage center and that is when Steven stepped out and made his proposal. She said yes to the sweetly romantic proposal!
