FIU Theatre Associate Professors Phillip Church and Tony Galaska visited students at the Dante B. Fascell Elementary School on November 21, 2016. They gave students a comprehensive look at everything that goes into a theatre production and the various careers that a theatre artist can pursue.
Students were able to take a look at model sets, original costume designs, and handmade puppets. They also participated in various exercises actors use to develop concentration, awareness, and focus.
“It was a very bright group of forty children, all asking very saavy questions,” said Professor Church. “This is the age when they need to be exposed to the arts and be inspired to live a more creative life.”
