FIU Theatre Alumna Apphia Campbell premiers one woman show Black is the Color of My Voice in Shanghai.
According to SmartShanghai.com:
“Campbell transfixed, she charmed, she entertained and ultimately moved a packed theater with her touching portrayal of the jazz [Nina Simone] musician reeling and reminiscing in the aftermath of her father’s death.”
Black is the Color of My Voice was developed during Campbell’s time here at FIU Theatre for her Senior Performance capstone course in the Department.
Black is the Color of My Voice will travel next to the Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City this summer. More info: MidtownFestival.org
