Jair Bula (Class of ’13) has been selected to perform his one man show, “I Am“ at The United Solo Festival in New York on November 1, 2014.  Jair put a year of research into creating this production for his BFA Performance Senior Project last year.  The show is based on the story of Jesus spending forty days and forty nights in the desert.  It is about a man and his struggles to find himself while he is learning to accept his mission in life.

After being told about the United Solo Festival by his wife, Vanessa, who also holds a BFA Performance degree from New World School of the Arts, the couple decided to submit their applications.  At the time, they were hopeful but not overly optimistic.  Learning that both applications had been accepted came as a tremendous surprise.  They are currently working hard on perfecting their performances, in the hopes that both shows will sell out and they will be invited to return to the festival to perform on additional nights.

Jair and Vanessa are in the process of establishing their theatre company (Be)2 Productions. They are hoping that the Company will be open and fully functional by the end of this year.  We always take great pleasure in hearing the wonderful success stories of our FIU Theatre graduates.
