Alumna Chantal Jean-Pierre Visits Her Alma Mater

FIU Theatre alumna Chantal Jean-Pierre visited Professor Wayne E. Robinson, Jr.’s Acting 7 class yesterday. She spoke to the class about her experiences at FIU and in the professional world and then worked with some students on their audition monologues.

Jean-Pierre is in town working on Miami New Drama’s critically acclaimed production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach. She plays Mrs. Gibbs in the classic American play.

Jean-Pierre has a BFA in Acting from FIU and an MFA from Rutgers University. Some of her stage credits include Cleopatra in Shakespeare’s Antony & Cleopatra at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival and Ruth in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun at the Crossroads Theatre. Television credits include Law & Order: SVU, Are We There Yet, One Life to Live, and All My Children.
