Founding Managing Editor of Inspicio Raymond Elman’s 60 x 40 inch portrait of Pulitzer Prize recipient Jhumpa Lahiri is currently on display in the installation 20th Century Americans at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. The exhibition will continue through the end of the summer.

Jhumpa Lahiri won a Pulitzer Prize for The Interpreter of Maladies, and is the author of The Namesake, which was made into a movie of the same name. Her most recent book is The Lowland, which was a finalist for the National Book Award in 2013.

In addition to the portrait of Jhumpa Lahiri, three other portraits by Mr. Elman are also in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery: Pulitzer Prize recipient and U.S. Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz (60 x 43 inches), Pulitzer Prize recipient Alan Dugan (30 x 40 inches), and U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky (60 x 43 inches).

Currently, Mr. Elman is the founding manager/editor of Inspicio, a new arts publication platform sponsored by Florida International University’s College of Architecture + The Arts. See inspicio.fiu.edu.
