The School of Architecture Alumni Networking Cocktail Reception was held on Thursday, June 20th at Siga La Vaca Restaurant in Coral Gables. Over seventy people attended the function. CARTA Dean Brian Schriner was in attendance, as were Architecture Chair John Stuart, Landscape Architecture Chair Roberto Rovira, and several members of the Dean’s Leadership Advisory Board. Graduates were able to enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and glasses of wine as they chatted with old friends and made new connections. For ’09 Interior Architecture Liliana Custy, the best part of the evening was “the ability to meet and greet new and old faces; everybody is so warm and unpretentious, even the donors! It was a great opportunity for networking in a relaxing environment.”
There were a number of prizes donated by sponsors that were raffled off later in the evening. A $50 dinner certificate for Siga La Vaca was raffled off, as were three baskets full of Argentinean wine and food products donated by Graziano’s Imports and Rutini Wines, Productos del Plata, and Alimentos Australes. These were won by a Dean’s Leadership Board member, an architecture alumnus, and a new friend of the College. The grand prize was a round-trip ticket to Argentina, generously donated by Aerolineas Argentinas and TravelMax USA, and won by Lisette Boosooboy, an ’05 Interior Architecture alumna.
