FIU musicians to perform in Mainly Mozart Festival

Amernet Quartet

The Amernet String Quartet, FIU’s Ensemble-In-Residence, and FIU pianist Marina Radiushina will be performing in the upcoming Mainly Mozart Festival held every year in Coral Gables.

This year, the Amernet will open the series on Sunday, May 12 at 3:00pm.  Audiences will be treated to Dohnányi’s String Quartet No. 2 in D-flat major, Op. 15 and Mozart’s String Quartet in F major, K. 168. Aftewards, Violist Yael Kleinman Hyken and cellist Aaron Merritt join the ensemble in Tchaikovsky’s impassioned Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70.

On Sunday, May 26, 3:00 PM, the Amernet wil return with Paul Posnak, pianist and professor at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, for Mozart’s noble work- Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478. Wolf’s Italian Serenade and Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No. 1 in D major, Op. 11 are sure to please.

marina2“Festival Favorite” pianist Marina Radiushina, is expected to wow audiences with her first performance in the festival on June 1, 3:00pm where she will join the the Sona String Quartet for Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34. Finally, she will perform in the closing concert  on Sunday, June 16, 3:00pm along with Eli Matthews and Joshua Roman in a program of Mozart, Janaceck, Piazzolla, and more. Musicologist Frank Cooper will provide evocative commentary.
