On March 18th, Chair Roberto Rovira (FIU Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design; Studio Roberto Rovira) moderated the panel Driving the Transformation of Coconut Grove’s Landscape with the leading landscape architectural offices of Raymond Jungles, Enzo Enea, and Kimley-Horn.

Although much of the media focus has been on the Grove’s changing skyline, there has not been as much focus on what is happening on the ground, so the design panel focused on landscape architecture and its future impact in Coconut Grove’s growth. What Enzo Enea Landscape Architecture, Raymond Jungles Inc., and Kimley-Horn are doing for the landscape in the Grove is important for current and future residents and visitors for generations to come. The new Regatta Park across the street from Park Grove and Grand Bay is going to be the perfect addition to the new Grove Triangle of beautifully designed green spaces.

The speakers who participated in the panel were Enzo Enea (Enzo Enea Landscape Architecture, designer of Park Grove), Raymond Jungles (Raymond Jungles Inc., designer of Grove at Grand Bay), and George Puig (Kimley Horn, designer of Regatta Park).

Rovira had the following to say about Driving the Transformation of Coconut Grove’s Landscape: “The event gave us an opportunity to focus on the impact of landscape architecture in our city and have an open conversation about the exciting developments that are going to positively transform Coconut Grove and Miami in the immediate and long-term future. Cities are exponentially better when they embrace parks and quality green space as part of their development and long-term vision. We are fortunate to have the talent, the energy, and the investment that are going into these projects, and look forward to seeing them set a new standard for landscape architecture in our city that builds on its amazing natural assets.”

At the panel event, Rovira met with FIU LAEUD alumni who now work for Enzo Enea Landscape Architecture. Among the alumni who work for the firm are:
