Amsterdam-based, non-profit foundation for photography, The Gallery Club, presents ‘The American Landscape – Miami Edition’ at the Alfred DuPont Building in Downtown, Miami during Art Basel 2018.

The exhibition will feature five well-known contemporary photographers from the Netherlands: Iwan Baan, Charlotte Dumas, Marie-José Jongerius, Sem Langendijk and Bert Teunissen. All exhibiting artists have photographed the American landscape over the course of the years capturing different societal issues like climate change, migration and urban planning.

As part of the exhibition, the Gallery Club in collaboration with FIU’s Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental + Urban Design (LAEUD) will host a symposium on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 1 – 4PM, with exhibiting photographers who will give special presentations about their work. The symposium will be held in the gallery space at the Alfred DuPont Building. Please RSVP for the symposium before December 6th to: gili@thegalleryclub.com

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with LAEUD faculty Linda Chamorro and TJ Marston and moderated by Department Chair David Rifkind. Consul General Gera Sneller of the Netherlands will give her opening remarks.

‘The American Landscape – Miami Edition’ is supported by the Dutch Culture USA program by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York and through a grant of the Netherland – America Foundation.
