Over the past six years, the Department of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design (LAEUD) has achieved numerous accomplishments, from receiving research grants to faculty members serving as keynote speakers at major conferences, and student and faculty work being published in academic journals. FIU LAEUD stands as a symbol of academic excellence, credibility, and quality.

“The Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) at its February 26, 2025, meeting granted accreditation for a period of six years to the course of study leading to the professional MLA degree at Florida International University….The six-year period of accreditation ends December 31, 2030. Accordingly, the MLA program at Florida International University is next scheduled for a review during the fall of 2030.” —Roxi Thoren, ASLA, FCELA, LAAB Chair, Pennsylvania State University

As we look ahead to the next six years, we remain committed to fostering continued academic growth with the support of our Dean, Brian Schriner, and Department Chair, Ebru Ozer. Together, we strive to create a clear pathway to success as our students transition from their academic journey to their professional careers.

A special thank you to the 2024 FIU LAEUD Accreditation Team for their recognition, guidance, and valuable feedback, and to our dedicated faculty, staff, students, and the entire CARTA family for their ongoing support.
