Students from Assistant Professor Linda Chamorro’s South Florida Landscapes class on a recent visit to Everglades National Park. The trip provided a fully immersive experience for 31 students from the first year MLA cohort, and an opportunity to deepen their studies into South Florida’s natural and cultural landscapes. The course introduces students to the natural communities of tropical and subtropical Florida including their climate, topography, geology, hydrology, ecology, and conservation issues as a foundation for the practice of landscape architecture.
