Over 150 guest attended the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication hosted its Second Annual Conference, “Women in Communication: Breaking the Barriers.”    The national one-day conference was keynoted in the morning by Anne Vasquez, chief digital officer of tronc, Inc., formerly Tribune Publishing, and former managing editor of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, which won a Pulitzer Prize under her leadership and Emceed by Stephanie Bertini, Stephanie Bertini, NBC6-Miami. Vasquez is an alumnus of FIU.   Thought Leadership Panelists: Lauren Wolfe, Director of Women’s Media Center’s Women Under Siege, Mindy Marques, Executive Editor and Vice President for News, The Miami Herald; Rochelle Oliver, Staff Editor, The New York Times hosted the session “Where do we go from here?” giving their insights on how to break the barriers from the perspective of their current roles.
