On Tuesday, April 5th, Lorraine Bragg (Interior Designer, Heery International) led a PROsession for FIU Interior Architecture students to discuss the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Certification) and its Interior Design Fundamentals Exam (IDFX). Bragg has worked as a study coach for NCIDQ examinations.

All NCIDQ Certified Designers have been educated, trained and examined to protect public health, safety and welfare. When hiring an NCIDQ Certified Designer, you hire a professional with proven knowledge, experience and proficiency in the interior design principles of protecting the public health, safety and welfare. The IDFX addresses the following topics: programming and site analysis; human behavior and the designed environment; building systems and construction; furniture, finishes, equipment and lighting; construction drawings and specifications; technical drawing conventions; and design communication. At FIU Interior Architecture, we prepare our students to be fully certified interior designers. April 5th’s PROsession exemplifies the efforts on behalf of the Department to educate future professional designers.
