FIU 2014 Torch Award recipient Marlene Liriano ’89 (B.A.Sc., Interior Design) was elected to be the 2016-2017 President of the International Board of Directors of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).

For nearly three decades, Marlene Liriano, IIDA, LEED AP ID+C, Managing Director of the Miami office of IA Interior Architects, has successfully delivered innovative design solutions that exceed her clients’ expectations. Liriano is a recipient of the 2014 Torch Award for distinguished alumni from the Florida International University College of Architecture + the Arts, the 2012 Best of Miami Architects and Designers from Miami Today, and the 2006 Interior Designer of the Year from the AIA Miami Chapter. She was recently bestowed the IIDA South Florida Chapter Interior Designer of the Year award and has played a vital role at IIDA, participating in the IIDA panel discussion, “The Culture of Work: A Global Perspective” at ORGATEC 2014, and as a juror for multiple IIDA design competitions.
