You’re Invited: 2025 Festival of the Trees
Thursday, November 20, 2025
Coral Gables Country Club
Now celebrating its 37th year, the Festival of the Trees is a cherished annual fundraising event in support of FIU’s Interior Architecture students and programs.
Each year, sponsors underwrite local designers who create and donate original holiday-themed installations, known as our signature “trees.” These one-of-a-kind pieces are showcased during the gala and offered to guests who make a donation at the end of the evening.

This Year’s Theme:
Design Perspective: A Paradox in Design, Shifting Perspectives
The way we see and interpret the world is shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and imagination. In politics, lifestyle, and especially architecture, perception influences what we consider beautiful, functional, or meaningful. Yet even though we all share the same senses, no two people view the world in exactly the same way.
For the 2025 Festival, designers are invited to explore the power of perception through abstraction and illusion. Inspired by the interplay of object, mass, and space, each creation should challenge the viewer’s understanding of form. Trees may shift depending on the angle from which they are viewed, using changes in perspective, scale, material, or color to create visual paradoxes that spark curiosity and wonder.
