The International Interior Design Association of South Florida (IIDA SFC) recently honored Chair of the Department of Interior Architecture Janine King with the Legacy Educator Award at their 3rd Annual Bragg Awards Gala.
The gala was held at InterContinental in Downtown Miami on July 27, 2018, and over 500 people attended.
The Legacy Educator Award honored Janine’s work as an interior design educator and mentor throughout the years. Her curricula paired with her charisma has provided both students and colleagues, an enriching and rewarding experience at FIU.
Janine first arrived in Miami, FL in 2003 and has led the Department of Interior Architecture ever since. Under her guidance and leadership, she created a reputable and competitive design program which has received continuous national rankings year after year.
Today, FIU Interior Architecture is a renowned entity in South Florida’s design community and stands as an advocate for interior design education. With her help, she has made the Festival of the Trees fundraising event a success providing hundreds of scholarships and grants to students.
The College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) wants to congratulate Janine King for her 15 years of leadership and service. Many thanks to IIDA South Florida for granting this prestigious award to one of our own.
