FIU Department of Interior Architecture organized it’s Master’s Project Reviews and celebration on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the Paul L. Cejas Architecture Building (PCA) at the BEA Gallery.
To date, it is one of our largest student cohorts to graduate–27 students! Under the instruction of Prof. Katie Rothfield and Newton D’souza, student projects included building typologies such as Homeless Shelters, Holistic Learning Centers, Aviation Services, Food Halls, Cultural Centers, Hotel for Millennials, Intergenerational Facility and Mixed-use.
Students were paired with a pool of 21 mentors throughout the semester. For the final review, a super jury panel of 17 design professionals participated. After, the reviews culminated the department preceded with an award ceremony honoring top students within their graduating class. Awards were presented in areas like design excellence, sustainable design, and research. Alumni, friends, and friends joined in on the celebration.
