isabelleMeet Interior Architecture graduate student Isabelle Bouthillier.

Isabelle was born in Montreal, Canada and raised in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Athletic pursuits have always been a passion of hers and throughout her life, Isabelle swam competitively, as well as, participated in equine-related activities.

Isabelle attended American Heritage School in Plantation and continued her education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she received her Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration of Architecture and a minor in French from Miami University in May 2012 .

FIU’s Interior Architecture program is Isabelle’s next academic focus for her Master’s Degree as she thinks the graduate assistant program provides a great opportunity to work alongside her peers and professors. Being at FIU makes being closer to family and her horse possible too.

Isabelle is currently a graduate teaching assistant for faculty member, Katie Rothfield, who teaches Graduate 4 Design Studio and Sustainable Interior Design Practice Course. Isabelle helps organize class content and coordinate class activities. She also works part time as a graduate assistant in the Digital Fabrication Lab for the School of Architecture at FIU.  Isabelle finds interiors inspiring for its ability to effect how people interact, understand, experience, and remember a space.
