The FIU Department of Interior Architecture is proud to announce that three of our Interior Architecture students were recognized as the Top 3 Portfolio Award Winners at the IIDA Synergy Summit on March 28.
These students demonstrated outstanding design thinking, clear communication, and a strong sense of growth and potential throughout the portfolio review process. Congratulations to our winners on this well-deserved recognition:
- First Place — Alejandro Brana (graduated Spring 2026)
- Second Place — Zaria Gibson (4th Year)
- Third Place — Daniela Salazar (4th Year)
The IIDA Synergy Summit is a half-day professional development event for students featuring portfolio reviews, interviews, networking opportunities with industry professionals, giveaways, and a portfolio scholarship competition. The event was created by faculty member and alumna Chelsea Abella as part of their roles with the IIDA South Florida Chapter Student Affairs team.
In addition to students from Florida International University, the summit welcomed participants from Miami Dade College and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
This achievement reflects the continued success of FIU Department of Interior Architecture students and the department’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of innovative leaders in design.
