Florida International University’s Interior Architecture Department is hosting its 31st annual Festival of the Trees event on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at Miami Design District’s premier event space: The Moore Building (191 NE 40 ST). All net proceeds will benefit FIU’s Interior Architecture department and students.
For the past 31 years, the fundraising event has raised over $350,000 for student scholarships and design education advocacy. This year, FIU College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) alumnus, Alexander F. Yahr of U.S. Construction Corp. has generously come on board as title sponsor and event Chair.
“FIU’s ‘Festival of the Trees’ event is the perfect way to bring together South Florida design professionals to raise needed scholarship money that benefits interior architecture students of FIU’s College of Communication, Architecture and The Arts,” said Yahr. “I am pleased to commit to a major multi-year sponsorship and look forward to greeting my fellow design professionals on Thursday, November 16.”
Each year, Festival of the Trees brings together South Florida’s designers and industry professionals to kick off the holiday season and participate in an evening of creativity, ingenuity and networking. Event sponsors underwrite designers and artists to create “trees” that are displayed and auctioned off during the event. ArtBCo will provide guests an opportunity to bid on their favorite tree through digital auction app available on iOS and Android. Tickets include unlimited catered hors d’oeuvres and beverages courtesy of Bacardi USA, Wynwood Brewing, MIA Beer Co, Tank Brewing, Lagunitas Brewing Co and 1865 Single Vineyard. Additionally, guests will enjoy live music, a craft beer garden and award ceremony. Valet parking and public parking are available for guests.
