Global Strategic Communication is more than just adjusting ads for new markets. It focuses on connecting your message with audiences worldwide. In this course, our students joined international teams to solve real challenges in global marketing and work together to find solutions.
For eight weeks, FIU GSC-Creative track students from the graduate joint program with Miami Ad School worked with peers from La Salle University in Mexico in international COIL teams. They explored real global communication challenges, shared cultural perspectives, found paradoxes, and suggested solutions using concepts from class. To inspire the teams, Dr. Lauren Speeth, a Silicon Valley executive, media producer, award-winning author, philanthropist, and professor, joined as a guest lecturer.

The students’ final projects blended creativity and strategy to present global brands with new ideas, strong cross-cultural analysis, and engaging digital stories. They studied cultural differences and turned their research into multimedia presentations that reveal the complexity of cross-cultural communication. Each project offers unique, culturally aware recommendations to help global brands become more relevant and effective. This work shows that these emerging professionals are ready to think globally, work across borders, and lead the future of strategic communication. See the final projects here!
