Students from the Global Strategic Communication-Creative Track program, in partnership with Miami Ad School, were invited by their professors Albena Petrus from FIU and Nancy Chang from Miami Ad School, to collaborate on the social media strategy and content production for the One Club Awards Miami 2025. This hands-on industry opportunity lets students step outside the classroom, apply their academic training to a high-profile creative event, and meet top professionals in the creative industry.
Ariadna Evans, Ariana Harnisth, Daniela Lozano, Andrea Montenegro, and Sofia Quevedo developed and executed a comprehensive digital campaign for the event, including pre-event anticipation, live coverage, and post-event amplification. In just one month, the team organically grew The One Club Miami’s Instagram account by more than 200 followers through consistent content creation and intentional community-building, generating buzz and strong FOMO among non-attendees.
During the awards ceremony, Ariadna Evans led a live social media takeover, documenting key moments in real time.
“We worked intensively against tight deadlines to build a strategy that covered the entire event lifecycle. Leading the live coverage allowed me to apply what we’ve learned in class in a real, high-energy environment,” Evans said.
Andrea Montenegro was responsible for filming and editing short-form video content published on the organization’s Instagram, capturing award winners, audience reactions, and celebratory moments.
“Working in a live event environment pushed me to think strategically while creating. Visualizing the edit as I filmed and directing moments so they would translate powerfully on screen,” Montenegro shared. “Seeing the final content published and the impact it generated has been incredibly rewarding.”
For Daniela Lozano, participating as a first-quarter student made the experience even more meaningful.
“I felt honored to be part of this event so early in the program. What we learned in just six weeks truly paid off. Being surrounded by so many creatives was incredibly inspiring,” Lozano said.
Oriana Biscaldi also supported the event by assisting with guest check-in and on-site coordination, getting an early networking opportunity.
“Being part of this event so early in the program felt both exciting and grounding. It made me realize how quickly this experience is shaping the way I think and approach the industry,” Oriana shared.
The experience helped students connect academic training with professional work, strengthening their strategic, creative, and collaborative skills while contributing to one of Miami’s leading creative industry events.
