On April 11th, The FIU Department of Communication and FIU Career and Talent Development hosted a Communication Career Boot Camp designed to prepare students for the many job opportunities the field of Communication offers.
There were various tables advice from trained professionals on topics such as: resume and cover letter writing, elevator pitches, the importance of having a business card, LinkedIn, job opportunities through Handshake – a modern career development platform, and more!
The event attracted many eager students and was a great success – hopefully leading to similar events in the future.
“It was so great to have all of the career resources FIU has to offer for my field in one place. I learned the different ways that I can give myself a leg-up when searching and applying for jobs,” said Public Relations major, Vanessa Sanchez.
