We are proud to announce that Dr. Sigal Segev, Associate Professor of Advertising at our School of Communication, was inaugurated as President of the 2024 American Academy of Advertising (AAA). As a leader of the AAA and professor for both graduate and undergraduate courses, she is leading the way for a future of excellence in research. Focusing on green advertising, new media and multi-cultural communication, Dr. Segev’s work is geared towards inspiring communication students to advance their advertising practices with research skills for real social impact.
Dr. Segev has been an active member of the AAA for more than 10 years and served as Vice President of the organization from 2021 to 2022. She has also served as a member and then Chair of AAA’s Research Committee.
“The American Academy of Advertising conference is a great opportunity for advertising scholars, students and professionals to network, exchange ideas about current and emerging research and trends in advertising,” describes Dr. Segev. “It inspires future research that advances the advertising and strategic communication disciplines and the practice.”
Dr. Segev’s work has been published in the Journal of Advertising, the International Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Business Research, and the European Journal of Marketing, among others.
The American Academy of Advertising (AAA) Academy fosters research that is relevant to the field and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among its academic and professional members. Through the Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, the Journal of Interactive Advertising and the annual conference Proceedings, the Academy disseminates research findings and scholarly contributions to advertising education and the profession.
