GSC Creative Track Summer 2024 graduate, Marie Sophie Baier from Germany, completed her Master of Science in Mass Communication degree from FIU along with a diploma specializing in Art Direction from Miami Ad School. Marie Sophie took advantage of every available opportunity during her master’s program, from attending portfolio reviews, submitting for awards to attending networking events. She thrives on challenging her comfort zone and constantly seeks new learning experiences.

Marie Sophie’s multicultural experience includes backpacking solo for six months through Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, and Mexico, where she fell in love with the Latin culture and volunteering experience at Kawempe Home Care in Uganda, Africa where she volunteered at a children’s hostel for orphans and children with cancer.

This last semester, Marie Sophie, along with some of her classmates, won prestigious industry awards including:

What is Marie Sophie’s creative process like?

“I get my inspiration from around the globe, letting my travel experiences, personal relationships, and connections spark new ideas. When I’m surrounded by creativity, ideas flow naturally. When I’m working with a specific brand, I begin with in-depth research on the brand and its target audience to define and uncover key insights, combining both thorough research and external inspiration fuels my creativity.”
