The Healing Spirits of Water exhibition opens at FIU’s  Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum on February 27, 2013.

The exhibition is curated by College of Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) adjunct professor, Stephanie Chancy, and forms part of the museum’s Target Wednesday After Hours. During Target Wednesday After Hours, museum-goers are able to socialize with artists and other visitors while enjoying the exhibitions on display, performances, talks, films and music. The evening will include light refreshments, guided tours and music by FIU’s Radiate FM.

The exhibition includes Voudoun ceremony flags and a video by esteemed Kenyan artist, Wangechi Mutu. Wangechi Mutu is a Kenyan-born, New York-based artist. Mutu’s work is mostly collage-based and often deals with the female body. Her artwork has been displayed at galleries and museums worldwide including the Miami Art Museum and the Tate Modern in London. Her work is beautiful and should not be missed!

The display exhibits until March 31.
