Each year, FIU’s Department of Art + Art History presents its Master Thesis Exhibition featuring artwork from the Master in Fine Arts graduating class. Throughout the program, the MFA candidates work with faculty, curators, mentors and classmates to develop their own concepts and techniques which help each artist to stand apart from the rest.

Spring 2017 brings together 8 emerging artists from the MFA graduating class to present, ‘The Borg’, a collaborative collection of art mediums housed at The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum. The exhibition, debuting Friday, March 10th, features artwork of: Javier Cuarezma, Diana Garcia-Lantigua, Victor Golden, Michael Gray, Roma James, Susan Maas, Guido Mena, and Sterling Rook.

This exhibition features a wide range of styles including acrylic painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, video, sound installation and sculpture. All components to a collection of artwork that culminates the rigorous Masters in Fine Art program.

Join us for the opening reception of ‘The Borg’ on Friday, March 10th at the Frost Art Museum. The exhibition is open for viewing from March 10th until April 9th on the second floor galleries (1, 2, and 3). Admission is free and open to the public.
