Nature Preserve as Practice Field is a new exhibition by FIU Art + Art History Students in Beginning Drawing classes.

These FIU students have practiced drawing in and about Florida International University’s Nature Preserve; the ensuing works will be displayed in the exhibition at the Graham Center Art Gallery. From a beautiful pencil drawing highlighting a magnificent strangler fig, to two large plastic mesh fields woven with fake and natural greenery, the students have explored, discovered, and researched the Nature Preserve itself, the politics surrounding it, and their own reactions to it.

The opening reception for Nature Preserve as Practice Field occurs on Monday, April 18th, 2016 from 6:00PM-9:00PM at the FIU Graham Center Art Gallery: 11200 SW 8 Street, GC 215, Modesto A. Maidique Campus, Miami, FL 33199.

The exhibition will run until April 30th, 2016.
