Alex Trimino Wins Grand Prize of Dave Bown Projects 11th Semiannual Competition

Alumna Alex Trimino (FIU MFA ’12) has won the Grand Prize ($5,000 USD) of the Dave Bown Projects 11th Semiannual Competition.

The Dave Bown Projects 11th Semiannual Competition was curated by Katherine Pill, Assistant Curator of Art after 1950, Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg; Ron Platt, Chief Curator, Grand Rapids Art Museum; and Kelly Shindler, Associate Curator, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis.

Submissions were received from artists from approximately 40 countries, and the competition features images of the work of 25 visual artists. Unrestricted monetary awards to visual artists totaling $10,000 USD has been awarded. Alex Trimino received $5,000 USD (Grand Prize). Elizabeth Emery, Jessica Harvey, Silas Inoue, Gulsah Mursaloglu, and Zac Skinner each received $1,000 USD (Award of Excellence). The 25 artists who are featured by the competition are:
