The College of Architecure + The Art’s (CARTA) School of Architecture is tremendously proud of the extraordinarily unique achievement of our professor David Rifkind.
Rifkind received two of the most prestigious awards in Architectural History in the record time of one year. This achievement makes him one of the very few people in his field to be given this honor.
Professor Rifkind’s first book, “The Battle for Modernism: Quadrante and the Politicization of Architectural Discourse in Fascist Italy”, entitled him to the Premio James Ackerman Award in 2011. Following this triumph, Rifkind was awarded the 2011-2012 Best Scholarship of Design Article Award for his work, “Misprision of Precedent: Design as Creative Misreading.”
As part of the CARTA School of Architecture’s family, we want to congratulate you in this run of success and we hope to see you excel further in your future endeavors!
If you are interested in learning more about his work, Professor Rifkind will have a book signing at the annual authors event at FIU’s Barnes & Nobles Bookstore (MMC) on April 4 and a book event at Books & Books on April 25. Don’t forget to mark this date in your calendar!
