On Friday, January 17th, Instructor Nikolay Nedev will open his exhibition of paintings to the public at the College of Architecture + The Arts Miami Beach Urban Studios. The instructor of architecture, through his work, will demonstrate how art inspires him as an architect. Nedev explores color, surfaces, and shadows in his paintings, and “consider[s] the viewer in motion.” His paintings are made mainly with acrylic and oil on wood.

“I am an architect who looks to art – not necessarily only painting – for an outlet and for…inspiration,” said Nedev. Nedev listed the artists that inspire him. Among the many that influence him are Richard Diebenkorn, Donald Judd, Bruce Nauman, Barnett Newman, and Louise Bourgeois.

The Opening Reception for the Nikolay Nedev Paintings will be on Friday, January 17th at 6:30PM, at Miami Beach Urban Studios: 420 Lincoln Rd. Suite 440, Miami Beach, FL 33139. Free and open to the public.
