Florida International University (FIU) is proud to co-host the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) Conference 2025, themed COMPUTING for RESILIENCE: Expanding Community Knowledge & Impact. This conference is slated to bring together leading academics, designers, technologists and practitioners in digital design, architecture and computation from November 3 to November 8, 2025, at FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique campus.

A Convergence of Design, Technology and Research

The ACADIA conference is a premier global forum for exploring how computational systems, algorithmic approaches, digital fabrication and emergent technologies are reshaping architecture and the built environment. At ACADIA 2025, FIU will convene an international cohort of speakers, workshops and exhibitions around themes such as machine-learning for design, immersive environments, sustainability through computation, and new materials.

Why FIU?

FIU was selected to host the conference over numerous other institutions. The decision highlights FIU’s exceptional facilities and leadership in design innovation. Central to this achievement is the School of Architecture’s Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab, which provides the hands-on, experimental environment essential to the conference’s success. The lab’s pioneering work in environmental design, workforce training, and computational design underscores FIU’s impact and excellence in the field, making it the ideal host for ACADIA 2025.

Located in Miami, a growing global design hub, the university provides state-of-the-art fabrication labs, digital prototyping facilities and a culturally vibrant context that reflects the conference’s theme of digital futures.
