On Monday, April 6th, 2015, Professor Marilys Nepomechie joined FIU colleagues Tiffany Troxler, Rene Price, and Henry Briceno, as well as City of Miami Beach officials, in “The Rising Sea: A Sea Level Rise Teach-In.” The panel discussion, moderated by SEAS Executive Director Evelyn Gaiser and held at Miami Beach City Hall, focused on sea level rise and its global, national, and local implications. Panelists sought to contextualize the associated challenges and share what the City of Miami Beach is doing to address the issues and rise above.
