FIU Faculty Team Up for New World Symphony Event

College of Architecture + The Arts faculty members collaborated with Fellows from the New World Symphony. They held an event entitled “Musicians’ Forum: AIGA Centennial Celebration of Music and Design” at the New World Center. Professor Orlando Jacinto Garcia (Chair, School of Music) presented premiere compositions. Professor Jacek J. Kolasiński (Chair, Art + Art History Department) and Architecture Professor John Stuart (Associate Dean of Cultural and Community Engagement and Executive Director, CARTA Miami Beach Urban Studios), along with other local and national artists, presented video art.

The three FIU professors were selected by the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the New World Symphony based on the portfolio of work they submitted.

“Musicians’ Forum: AIGA Centennial Celebration of Music and Design” took place on Monday, January 27, 2013 at 7PM at the New World Center: 500 17th Street, Miami Beach, FL 33139.
