CARTA’s architecture, design, visual and performing arts programs were ranked among the world’s best according to the 2021 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
Architecture ranked in the top 50 (#17-25) for their category among public U.S. universities. It is one of two schools in Florida to be ranked. CARTA’s design, visual and performing arts programs – along with our colleagues in the Green School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) – contributed to FIU’s Arts and Humanities #54-59 QS public ranking.
The rankings, compiled by global higher education analysts Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), were calculated based on factors such as academic reputation, employer reputation and citations per paper. Ranking ranges indicate a tie between multiple universities.

Twenty FIU programs were ranked in total by QS World University Rankings by Subject and eight of these programs ranked in the top 50 for their category among public U.S. institutions.
