According to DawnTown’s website, their mission is “to bring innovative architecture to Downtown Miami, and to tell the exciting urban story of Downtown Miami to the world.” The theme for this year’s competition was to create a distinguish architectural design that could be recognized as a new landmark for the future of the city of Miami.

The event was sponsored by the Miami Downtown Development Association and organized by DawnTown.
