Antonella Jahn, Masters in Interior Architecture candidate, is a Graduate Assistant at FIU Interior Architecture this 2014-2015 academic year. Jahn was also a graduate assistant from 2013 to 2014, and has decided to continue providing her skills and expertise to the department.
Jahn, born in Caracas, Venezuela, received her Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design in 2011 at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She expects to receive her Master in Interior Architecture from FIU this coming May.
Jahn has worked as a teacher at the Diamond Minds KIC Summer Camp and has served as as a volunteer for the Festival of the Trees (Fall 2012-2013), as President for the FIU Interior Architecture Student Association (Spring 2014), and as a volunteer for Senior’s Graduation Day (Spring 2014). She has been a nominated honoree to the Sigma Xi Chapter of the Tau Sigma Delta National Honor Society, has been selected for the 2012-2013 FIU Interior Architecture Student Gallery Exhibit, and has received two Festival of the Trees scholarships (2013 and 2014).
Jahn has decided to return as a Graduate Assistant this academic year because of her desire for further knowledge in the field of design. “Having previous work experience as a Graduate Assistant has helped me explore different areas of research involved in the scholarly community,” said Jahn. “I am a great believer that having work experience in my field of studies will help me guide my practice towards fields of interest. Having the opportunity to explore design research in different levels will help me broaden my
knowledge in the field, while still providing me with working techniques for my professional practice.”
